Yes, sounds right. Your boat is bordering on underpowered, that is a heavy boat for a 175SJ, I can't beleive they built that.

Depends on your boating style I guess, I found that the little pumps did not perform adequate for longer trips with the boat loaded and packing lots of fuel and gear, and the boats are typically small ...

Won't happen, as it is a navigable river (Federal). Upper Tuchodi and the Gataga have been reopened because of this as well. Should still voice your opinion though.
