How much boat should be out of the water for best overall performance? Is there a basic guide line or is every boat totally different. Thanks

All of it...keep the thing on the trailer..it will last longer. ...and that applies to all boats ..boat simply means ..Break ..Out ..Another ...Thousand

Generally, speed will increase the more the boat is out of the water, however your handling will degrade proportionatly at the same time. Its a balancing act, you get as much boat as possible out of the water until you start to dislike the handling for your type of boating.

Yup. The boat always goes the fastest just before the pump comes out of the water and you do your version of a sheet of plywood caught in a big wind. Laughing

Very well said by MB but I would like to add a few things. The more boat you are trying to fly out of the water, the more HP you are going to need to carry the hull. At some point you may run out of power to carry the hull as high as you want but I have no idea what sort of HP you are running. This is very generalized as there are a lot of factors like hull design, nozzle set-up, HP, how much you want to actually turn the boat, intake pressure, etc etc that effect how high you can/want to run the boat. This is easy to figure out with a place diverter or similar set up. Hit the switch and read the GPS, a little more difficult with a race nozzle and wedges. Assume that faster is better as long as you maintain an acceptable amount of control-Aluminum Squirt
