The Mexican Powerboat Federation is happy to announce the 2010 River Marathon World Championship, to be held on March 13th thru 20th.
The event starts on Friday, March 12th, 2010 with the Boat Show and tech inspection in the southeast town of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Racing starts on March 13th. The event will feature two days of racing on the breathtaking Laguna de Bacalar, and on the tight cornered Río Hondo, on the border with Belize.
After one lay day, the race continues for 3 days on the Usumacinta River and will feature big, powerful class 3 rapids, racing through jungle and gorges, with beautiful waterfalls falling into the river.
On March 19th, teams will travel to the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, to finish off the race next day in a circuit on the Sumidero canyon, one of Mexico’s top natural attractions.
UIM Jet Boat Classes U, A, B, Fx and D, as well as Outboard OB2000 and OB3000 are invited.
This is truly an event that has it all: Beautiful scenery, challenging rapids, technical driving and flat all out racing.
