A few years ago, when up in Canada boating, I saw a trolling motor sitting on the rear swim platform. Motor was completely out of the water and sitting cross ways on the swim platform, while the boat was moving. I really liked that idea in shallow water running. I've been trying to search for the bracket on Google but no success. Anyone have manufacturer or website of such a trolling motor bracket? Jens - Boise, ID.

I finally remembered the boat was an Ali-Craft and the owner worked for a mill in Prince George, BC. I'm going to contact Ali-Craft to see if they can help. Any info on the bracket would be appreciated.

Thanks for the pictures. Is the large center bolt, in the main motor bracket, locked with a lock nut so it can be turned without having to loosen it each time. I'm a little concerned about the motor rocking back and forth when the motor is in the down position. Also, is the pin, with cable, have a clip, etc., on the bottom side to prevent the bracket from rotation. A picture of the bottom side would be appreciated.

I think the pin has a detent ball on the bottom side to keep it secured, kinda like the detent balls in a high end ratchet.

Sorry wriver,
I found these pics on a forum (not even sure which one now!)
If I remember, they said they used a nyloc nut on the bottom
and left the bolt just loose enough to rotate. There is Conveyor
belt Rubber in between bracket and swim deck
Not sure about the pin

I just got an email from Ali-Craft and they make their own swivel bracket. If your go to alicraft.com and click on services, you will see one on the back of a boat. My next jet boat my have a swivel bracket.

This purdy blue boat is mine and the kicker bracket is an exact copy of the Ali-Craft one. It uses UHMW between it and the swim grid, not belting. It's a very sturdy design and doesn't rock back and forth. Uses a nylock nut underneath and the little pin holds it from turning with no trouble. These things are the greatest!
