Hi can anyone in Canada tell me what motors you are allowed to fx class over there?

I know for sure the GM ZZ4 crate engine, untouched, no porting or roller valvetrain. I pretty sure you can run a Dodge and Ford crate engine, but I am not possitive on wich ones.

I'm new to racing but have done a bit o reading, this is what I interpret to be legal according to the AWJA rule set that I think is the basis for the Canuck rules.
Chev ZZ4, no roller rockers, no porting, production heads, 750cfm carb, wet sump oil pan.
Mopar 360 magnum, 380 hp engine must have intake changed to dual plane, other stuff same as chevy specs above.
Ford GT40, 360 hp, stock 1.6 roller rockers, other stuff at same spec. This was found in the rule books, there is a link to them at www.jetboatracing.com. The rule book is there to read through.

What about the Lexus engine they use in D Class ??

We are going to try and start a GM crate 572/620hp class next year. We have had a couple of people interested in trying it as well. We are very optomistic that it will make a great class as long as people run it with the same amount of restraint that they do in the ZZ4 class, by keeping the engine RPM down around 5,000-5,200 and have a top speed around 100 mph.

What are hp/tq #'s and price on the lexus engines and where do you buy them?

P.S It sounds like this increase in interest in keeping expenses down by running crate motors has mysteriously caused some of the custom engine builders to find a miracle way to drop their prices by 20+/-%. It's funny how a little competition/fear causes peoples pencil sharpeners to suddenly start working. I guess their pencil sharpeners were built for themselves, by themselves and they couldn't be kept working long enough to use. Rolling Eyes

Can you keep me up to date about this class if it happens, and is it likely to be run in the worlds in 07 in Canada as i may run in this class myself if I can't get the funds together for another big block.

We feel the engine should be fairly durable if driven properly, but we don't know for sure. No one has raced this specific engine yet, so we are going to find out. If everything goes as we hope it does, we plan on racing the engine next year and in the 07 worlds. If a class hasn't been created by that time, we'll run it in Unlimited.

Dean Saxon ran the 620 hp 572 in the world's in USA in 2004 approx 95 mph, ask him his views on that motor, he also ran some local races with it,
