Repainting my 99 OE tunnel. getting her rioght down to bare Aluminum. What types of paint have guys been using. I like Endura but it usually doesn't polish worth a crap. Any other paints out ther that guys have had good luck with. Alos how is the ne low voc stuff working. You don't need to use it for a boat but you just can buy anything else since the government brought out the new regs.

We still use Endura finishes on our Outlaw line-up. Mainly just clearcoat 100 over the zola-tone. Its hard finish, shine and set-up time and price is hard to beat.
We have just switched over to BASF. We are using the ONYX system, the base coats are now all water based. (low VOC)They actually cover better than the old school stuff. And cleaning the gun after is a breaze in the sink with warm water. The clear is still a thinner or chemical product. It has a awesome shine and lays out real nice.
Any paint these days is pretty good just make sure you use the proper etch primer!!! This is very important. Over the years we have tried different products on aluminum and if you dont get proper etch primer it can result in your paint falling off like sheets of wall paper.

what colour are you planning to paint it mark?

WEll that is the question. It was going to be Kandy Tangerine but my body work sucks so I think it will be more silver metalflake.

The low voc stuff from what I understand only has to be used on stuff with wheels.

thats funny I thought it would be yellow with blue flames off the nose, you know flying the colours and such

It might get some blue flames. Depends on how many beer I drink. LOL

Actually I was thinking of a pewter color but with some larger metallic or small metalflake and a little pearl in the clear and yes some blue flames. I am open to thoughts though.

No hot pink is not one of the choices.
