So I sold my high window delta, and bought a 20ft step tech . My question is, at 3k+ rpm I can hardly turn the wheel, but at idle and slow speeds it turns free. Would this be a cable issue?

What type of nozzle is on your new boat ....the fabricated deflector type nozzles can be hard to turn at speed as you are deflecting the water stream ....

I had this exact problem with my lynx, earlier this year. It was the steering cable and cost about 500 dollars to replace at outlaw.

ive been running hydraulic steering in my boats and ill never go back to cables. Steers the same year after year and is much easier to tuRn the wheel. Teleflex makes one that replace the conventional helm, its bolt in and not that expensive. Call Outlaw they will sell you the setup
