I'm sorry Wilson that may not be your boat in the photos. But maybe you can answer my questions about that boat anyway.

Thanks. Kjet

That's right. That's not me. That's Sergio Velazquez, a good friend.

However, I have been involved in setting up Sport Jets, and can give you a couple of good ideas. (And free of charge!!!!) PM me

If I were in the U.S. I could charge a beer or two. But considering the transportation costs involved, an international beer exchange rate is out of the question!

Yes, and as cheap as I am I would probably send them freight COD.

YKX - Why so negative. Its a great entry level class. Its cheaper to rig a SJ boat than FX. The retro look? Look at some 2001 race videos you'll see seats moved back. And you can order a boat from Eagle with side tanks, does the same thing. Whats wrong with wanting to go faster. This is still called racing.

Boating costs money, racing cost more.[/quote]

Alumaman,

Razz See you next week!

So I missed the meat of the topic by a few days...

I run sportjet class and my boat is 95% weekend adventure boat. Come race time I bolt in the cage, put the harnesses back in, remove the rear seat, and run the stock impeller and wear ring that I've been pumping sand and gravel through all summer. After the race, I weld up all the cracks I put in the hull and the kids and I spend the day at the lake in the family boat.

The race is won by taking the right lines, not letting your foot off the throttle, finishing every leg without mishap, and having balls the size of Alumaman's.

Spend the time to pull your pump and file the nicks out of your impeller and stator before the race. If you plan to go to the world, pick up a stock impeller and wear ring and use it for your fun boating next season or save it for worlds next year.

See y'all in Albany

Anyway.......... Shallowman's wear ring ABSOLUTELY transformed my little 18' Lynx Tuchodi Special boat from unresponsive to AMAZING.
I hope he gets the credit he deserves.
Thanks again Shallowman!!
