I hear ya.94 is everything you want in a player.Great leadership and a good role model. They are weaker without him no matter who or what they got. Evil or Very Mad He should have been on the ice last night for the 11 show.He grew up watching them.I'm kinda losing intrest in the club.-CL

I don't really feel too sorry for the tear show, didn't he turn down a 27 million dollar offer?

I want to know WHY the tax payers have to pay for a new ice rink. I think the NHL should take a portion (say 10%) of each players salary and put it into a trust fund for (say, oh I don't know, how about A NEW HOCKEY ARENA) when it's needed. The fan's pay enough to watch the game. It's time for the players to give something back.

Hard to believe they do that to a guy who plays with such heart for the team , especially him having to hear about it through the media Evil or Very Mad Exclamation Haven't been so pissed since they lost Rollie in the first game of the finals. I agree could work out good if they can sign him after he's a free agent Wink

Like Itsworthit said, "IT'S BUSINESS", get over it! Smitty is no all-star, sure he worked his ass off every game, but one guy workin' his ass off isn't going to win the cup. Kevin Lowe is doing financially what he needs to do to keep an NHL team in Edmonton whether we like it or not. And don't let the tears fool you, I would bet my right nut, Smyth is happier than a pig in shit to move on. (everybody needs a change eventually.)

There is lots more going on behind the closed doors than we know about. I'm thinking that Ryan was wanting a change and the Oilers management had very little power over the out come. The teary eyed Smith interview was a good show but he is happy and will do good with his new team. I'm sure that as a NHL player that grew up and played in the same area his whole life, he was looking forward to a change. Good luck to him and I hope the Oilers can re-group and find a good player or two to help out the young guys. It is a re-occuring story with them and it still pisses me off.

Nuts!!!!!!

Baldy hit the nail on the head. The "NHL" can kiss my Recktale Orsaface!!
Ive put up with their BS for too many years.

I don't blame the players for wanting to make good money, but hey!
There isn't a damn player in the league worth the millions their getting
(not even the Great One)

It used to be "Fun" to take my family to watch the games, not any more!
I'm really soured on this and it goes back well beyond the days of PP.

I'm a supporter of minor hockey and I'm donating my NHL sh@#$ to that cause!

Get over it? Not in this life! and I'm not drunk Laughing
Maybe a little mad or insane!! Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Cheers,
Emery
