| I am looking for a distributor of chainsaw winches (capstan winch) in the Edmonton or Red Deer area. My pushers are not as tuff as they used to be.

These are a must have. They work awesome. Had to rescue a 19' Muskwa and we winched the boat over rocks for about 1000 yards with no problem.

After being hi and dry 3 times last year, once involved a 12 mile hike out in rain and cold with hail the size of cabbages. I decided to solve my dilemma. I'm getting to old for this.
I pondered for a long time, what is the best tool for this situation. It's not a matter of if it will happen again but when. Lots of skinny water and a go for it attitude. I broke down and put QT100 on for strength and a slide factor. Bought a XYZ anchor http://www.xyzanchor.com and a Capstan gas powered winch http://www.portablewinch.com 600' of 1/2" rope, 1 double and 1 single pulley, a couple of good steel bars, and a big ass cooler for the coolers. Now I plan on setting it hi and dry on purpose. Just to try it out but not too hi and dry just in case.

| those look pretty good. What do they weigh with the carry box and all? Also what are they worth? Other than their weight in gold when you are high and dry! LOL

Scaler how you doing. I told you we have lots of skinny water and big ass boulders here in the south. Love the boat, you put alot of thought in the design and I have had many adventures with it. Was going to put uhmw on it but decided on the qt100 instead. You never know when a boulder will just pop up out of know where. Hope all is well with you.

| Thanks Wojo, looks like a cool unit. I too was wondering on the price of the winch. I was looking for the capstan winch that uses the chainsaw as a powerhead.

The winch weighs 32 lbs. I just keep it in a milk crate, fits nicely in my storage space. Measures about 13"w x 14"h x 15" deep. Has a 2500 lb straight line pull and is powered with a 4 cycle 50cc 2.5 hp Honda. The thing I like about it is it's a complete unit meant for one job.....to get me out of a bad situation miles from who knows where. It's alittle pricey, about $1300. I did buy a $600 chainsaw winch that had a 1500 lb straight line pull. If anyone is interested in the pieces give me a shout.
