here are my numbers
im turning an A2 ss impeller at 5400-5500
im at 630bs torque@4500 and 643hp@6000
what do I want to do turn lower or higher?

I'd say stay where it's at. Really decent power and torque numbers there! Start spinning it higher and you may start running into problems. Just my two cents bud!

I have a 9.5" aluminum impeller that I can try on and cut down to play with, will a aluminum impeller pump the same water a ss one would?

I mean size for size will the end result be the same

No the s.s steel ones usually pull about 200 rpm less on the same cut. is it an AT impeller. You could go to a Agressor as the A2 is a little more aggressive than the a/t one. They also have what they call an econo cut which is like an A3.5. You wouls prob pull that at about 5000.

they are both A/T the 9.5 inches is aluminum and never tried it on, the one that is on right now is AA Stainless and makes me turn 5400
my top end is only 70 right now. I would like to get a detailed stainless Hi-helix but don't really want to spend that much before knowing what will give me better top end that's why I wanted to try the aluminum one and turn it down from where it is until no gain is obtained. that's if there is more to start with
