anyone ever done a repaint on there zolatoned boat? Worked in the automotive paint world forever but no experience with this stuff. Do you have to strip it right down or just sand it well with say with 180 or 240 with a D-A and then go through the process of re-applying and then re-clearing? How many coats of clear are put on this stuff and what type of clear? Something like an Endura clear or basic automotive?

In terms of spraying this stuff do you any certain gun or just a basic gravity feed with a big tip?

your thoughts.

Grizz, The coarser the better, 120 would be good, I would take it down at least to the sealer just to be sure, because of the bumpy texture you might not get all the gloss/clear off otherwise and then you would have flaking/lifting issues.

We spray two coats Zolatone wait 24 then 2 coats endura clear. Zolatone requires a pressure feed/pot, and the clear just a big tip in any spray gun.

any bare alum or areas that break through when sanding do you use any type of etch primer or just seal and spray the product on? What do you use for a pre-cleaner? Soap and water then just an automotive refinish preclean??

Can I ask who sells the zolatone product?
