Hello to my Jet Boat Junky Friends

I need a little technical advice.
I recently had a Scott Power Trim installed on my 20 foot Clearwater
(212 Hamilton)
And so far I'm only half impressed...
The nozzle Hydraulics work great. It trims down just fine.
But as far as the "Whicked Rooster Tail" that the Scott website boasts... Havn't seen that as of yet..
I've checked the travel on the nozzle and it trims up as far as it can go.
Rob at Outlaw sent me a wedge to try out, but it doesn't work because when I installed it, the nozzle was jamming up on the reverse bucket.

I've searched the net and of course, I can't find any video of a scott trim on a hamilton pump!!

So..
I really hope that I didn't spend alot of Peso's for something that isn't all that I was told it would be.

Any help would be great

I don't recall seeing anything about a wicked rooster tail with any volume pump. A pressure pump ya I can see a rooster tail happening. The Scott power trim was designed to TRIM. Please say you didn't pay all that money to see a rooster tail.

No I didn't pay all of that money just for a Rooster Tail, But like I said before, I thought that when Scott said on there web site "Whicked Rooster Tail" that they would have been true to there word...
The trim itself works great...
I just thought I might be missing something as far as trimming up...

Seems like a little false advertising going on....
I never thought I would see it coming from Scott.
Maybe I'm just being a little bit naive...

i just put a trim nozzle on my sportjet and had clearance problems with the reverse bucket.when trimmed up the water was going into the bucket.had to put in spacers to get the clearance not sure if it's applicable to the 212,but worth looking at.

another thing we did was adjust the stroke(lengthened) on the trim ram to get more down trim then up.i now only get about 3ft of roost compared to 8ft when first installed.

I think I've resided with the fact that I won't have the Rooster that Scott says I will...
But I should be able to throw a John Deere Tractor in my boat and get on step, or a Moose and all of the gear, and no more Porpoising.....

I don't think the water disscharge is hitting the reverse bucket...
When in the forward position, the reverse bucket is well out of the way of the spray, and the cylinder rod is fully retracted.

The Nozzle is as far up as it will go when the cylinder is fully retracted...

Glad to hear you like the pump and the nozzle is doing what its intended to do. I'm convinced my next boat is going to have a Scott pump in it. Been hearing way to many good things about the volume pumps. I was just cruising around the Scott website the other day and didn't recall seeing anything about a wicked rooster tail.

P&J,
If you find that the nozzel trims downward a little more than needed, consider putting in a wedge (if they make them for a Hami) that way any overkill downward can be trimmed out which will also give you more upward roost.

If you find that you need a wedge for that 212 hamilton, get ahold of Bernie in parts at Outlaw Eagle Manufacturing 403 347 4565. We do make them i believe in a 3 degree machined billet item. They are fairly easy to install with some installations requiring some minor clearancing of the reverse bucket on the top edge inside, close to the steering pin.

I couldnt quote you on cost, but i do believe that they are relatively inexpensive.
