i just know someone's got the answer to this one.....my harbercraft extreme opti 200 porpoises badly with any amount of weight in it in deep water. ive heard of shimming it or wedging it. not sure if its meant by wedging the uhmw at the very back to make a fixed trim tab or if i can change the jet angle some how. been this way since new

Mine did the same. You can buy a 3 degree wedge from outlaw that inserts between the stator and the rudder and will direct the jet down. Helped for me. I did, however, also end up adding trim tabs.

has harbercraft come good on any of these costs for anyone? the boats are all new doing this its sounds like the extreme is a bouncy boat. trim tabs will never last with my river habits im afraid.

I've got a Thunderjet and it does the same thing on smooth water such as a lake.

there is a simple fix for this problem. most of these boats have a small amount of bottom over hang past the transom using a LARGE crescent wrench start from the outer edge of the chine and bend it down 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch working your way to the center of the boat. This will control the porpoise in deep water or with heavy loads but not affect handling or shallow water issues with add ons such as trim taps.

ya thanks. i ended up taking the cheap way and instead of bendind tabs down which wlda been even easier i put telfon wedge between the alum and existing teflon. works good......little to good. i went with 3/8 wedge . ya 1/8 to 3/16 will be trick thanks guys goin to princess to get a big adjustable trim tab tool.

Shallow Draft had the same problem with his boat....he simply moved his cooler closer to the front, as the gas tank went down so did the cooler, all had a good day , and he thinks the boat worked great!!!!
