Wanted: Race geear- helmets, suits, life jackets, sb headers, carb, wings, trim tabs. I recently purchased a 21'tunnel and want to make it race ready.
Any input would be appreciated. I also have a few questions about setup etc.
Thanks

It is the one from ebay. It didn't sell on ebay so I bought it privately. It's a great boat, expected it to go a little faster... 75 mph on the gps. I'll try the race snoot and see if that makes a difference, I just don't like the huge weelie everytime I have to start ! You might see me at the races! I just need a sbfx.... and roll cage....etc.
I'll post some pics for arthur 2

I think a race nozzle will bump you up 5mph or so. When I put one on I never really lost 'out of the hole' it still hooks up good, but mines a step tech. Could be different. Last time I was at OE they had many built. Well worth the $! To be competitive in FX you should be looking for high 80's or low 90's.

high 80's with a small block ?! I wonder what's holding this 496 back !!
I'll do a compression test and try to figure out if I can change the cam and wake it up. How do I know which impellor I have ? The one in the boat is unmachined except from the balancing and the other one that came with the boat has about 3/8 machined from the outside of the impellor. The one in it spins to 4900 rpm. Any thoughts ?
Thanks
Jay

Sounds like you need to find more RPM. As for the impellor, they usually have a letter stamped on them. If not I'm sure the guys at the shop could tell you what it is.

weight is a definate. measure the inside and out side edges of the back side of impeller where the vein ends that'll tell you what cut your impeller is. if a2 is a nice guy he'll post a chart that shows different cuts and hp-rpm chart.put a set of trim tabs with electric accuaters on them that'll control the star pointing at take off(alot of race boats have these) if your looking for a good used sbfx motor I've got one I'll make you a damn good deal on!

I have a brand new set of RCI 5 point seatbelts, numerous spare parts for small blocks, 3 or 4 impellors, 2 lifeline capsule 2 piece suits plus assorted other crap you might be interested in.

Depends on the river for speed. In Whitecourt the top FX boats where about 83-86. In Peace River the top FX Boats were 86-89. I am sure a boat in Peace River may of hit 90mph but a consistent down stream speed in more in the range as I said. There are always that spot on the river were you jump 1-2mph.

LOL but back on topic.

I just changed the power trim nozzle to a race snoot, and my top speed went from 79 mph to 92.8 mph !!!!! I'm so stoked. The downside is that the boat is a little slippery now and it points to the sky to get going but after that, it rips. Roll cage next.
