On these cold mornings on the way to the river my steering cable is frozen up. I have been just letting it sit in the water until it unthaws. But sometimes it takes a long time. How can I fix this.

Heat trace!.....j/k! It could be that the grease your using doesn't like the cold or maybe your cable is on it's last legs.

No place to grease the steering cable on my 175. Had to replace my cable last yr, as it was getting tight to operate.

The boot on your cable is probably leaking, I had the same issue with mine and it is a pin in the ass. Pulled the cable boot off worked the water out, regreased the cable well and put a new boot on and it solved the problem.

Freaks you out when you don't realize it before launching off the trailer first thing in the morning!!
