Guys,
I am planning a long distance trip next summer with my 240 SJ. At times we will be 120 miles from the closest town.
My question is:
What would you recommend that I take for spare parts for my engine and jet?

Thanks,
SH

I would recommend taking your SJ to a dealer and have it checked out on a diagnostic center and do a complete service on it. As for extra parts #1 a spare impeller is a must if you planning to run shallow water and #2 a spare belt and lift pump. Beyond these item it's dam near imposible to diagnos any other problems that may occur without disgnostic codes.

MMMMMM........beeeeeerrrr.

Unfortunatley we have to pack so much fuel in, some of the beer might have to be left at home.......some.....not all.

Thanks for the feedback.

The engine is a 2004 with around 250 hours on it.......if that makes you think of anyhting else, please let me know.

SH

maybe you should hav another boat going with you , traveling in pairs is always a good thing. dont go without a sat phone, put it with the beer and there is no way you will forget it.

I pack things like tools, wiring terminals, a couple lengths of wire, some spare bolts of various sizes, electrical tape, duct tape, lots of rope, tube of silicon, a spare lift (fuel) pump for sure. Usually one of us would also have a spare impellor and the requied tools for a trip like that as well.

Light gauge sheet metal, silicon, self tapping screws, set of spare spark plugs, fuel filters, belt, and just make sure everything is in good shape before leaving civilization. Always pack more fuel then you feel is necessary too.
