Just curious if running the tuchodi with kids is a good idea. I was looking at bringing my family up there one year because it looks like the ultimate adventure. Does any one have any info on when is the best time of year to go when the water is at its peak? I guess another question is what is the river like to run? any info would be greatly appreciated.

The Tuchodi, can be challenging. Its not an easy river to navigate. With that being said, there have been, and are alot of kids that travel with their parents. Just be cautious.

From reading previous threads it can be a little hectic to do. Is there a ton of back channels and dead ends that can get a person in trouble?

Yes there are. There has not been a year, in a long time, where I didn't hear of broken ribs, smashed teeth, sunk/destroyed boats, ect on the Tuchodi. Having said that there is usually a reason for most accidents.
It's a good trip, if you know your boat and have experienced running small, fast, rocky Rivers.
