It takes the turbines 29mins! But for a family boat I would say 1.5hrs at 30mph. Really nice trip. If you have a boat that will do it I suggest going up the west side of 5 mile island....nice run if the water is high enough.

Whitecourt to Ft. Assiniboine is 60 miles one way, give or take on how you go around the islands. More than enough distance to fill a day. The first 30 downstream is more typical of the fast flowing, jasper green colored water, crown land, bush. The second 30 miles gets into farm land, slower moving silty water. Lots of great scenery, places to stop, picnic, fish, get stuck etc. From the Ft. downstream the river gets really wide and slow moving. From the FT. to Smith is 100 miles.
